We live in tough, confusing and extremely challenging times. Political turmoil, social injustice, economic uncertainty and immigration worries have many of us feeling tense, edgy or anxious.
Urban terrorism, school shootings, the prison industrial complex, persistent wars on foreign shores, and unease with global competition are just a few of the negative factors that have produced personal feelings of inadequacy, not being in control of our own destiny, and not sure of our ability to safely or successfully navigate the journey of life.
Employment issues, relationship obstacles, family dysfunction, financial uncertainty, incivility and inequality consistently cloud the opportunities for personal satisfaction; often replacing hope for the future with doubt and perhaps dread of tomorrow.
